Our Annual Memorial Day Scramble

Memorial Day is a time to remember those who lost their lives fighting to protect our freedoms and it's also the unofficial start of the summer season. Let's hope this memorial day marks the beginning of a dryer weather pattern. Congrats to the team of Andrew Twitchell & Kyle Kirch won the "officers" division with a score of 67; while Bill & Kjirsten Meckert won the "Recruits" division with a score of 76.
Memorial Day Shotgun

Every Memorial Day SCC hosts a shotgun to honor our fallen Veterans. This year's event is slated for Monday, May 30th. The 9:00AM shotgun is open to both Stowe Country & Mountain club Members as well as to the public. The rate for the public is $50 per player, so if you know anyone who you think might be interested in playing for more than half price please let them know. The format is a two person scramble and there are two flights (or divisions) you can choose to be a part of; The "Officers" division is competitive and "Recruits" is non-competitive. Play will be followed by an awards ceremony that will include some light hors d'Ĺ“uvre ssss.

Opening Day is Here!

The day is almost here. The first tee shot of the 2011 season will be hit this Saturday, May 14th by some lucky golfer. The weather forecast is getting better than it was a few days ago and the tee sheet is beginning to fill up. Give us a call to make a tee time or stop by. We are busy cleaning carts, getting the shop setup, and finalizing all of the small details that go into getting things ready. Scott and his crew are just about there and I have to say that the course looks like it's in mid season shape.

If you haven't joined up yet you can also drop off your application so we can get it processed prior to opening day. There are a few things you need to remember to get: your 2011 bag tag, the updated member book, our new member calendar, and we need to activate you in the GHIN handicap system. If you are a new member and you had a GHIN from a different club we can get your number so you don't have a duplicate handicap.
