Opening Day is Here!
The day is almost here. The first tee shot of the 2011 season will be hit this Saturday, May 14th by some lucky golfer. The weather forecast is getting better than it was a few days ago and the tee sheet is beginning to fill up. Give us a call to make a tee time or stop by. We are busy cleaning carts, getting the shop setup, and finalizing all of the small details that go into getting things ready. Scott and his crew are just about there and I have to say that the course looks like it's in mid season shape.
If you haven't joined up yet you can also drop off your application so we can get it processed prior to opening day. There are a few things you need to remember to get: your 2011 bag tag, the updated member book, our new member calendar, and we need to activate you in the GHIN handicap system. If you are a new member and you had a GHIN from a different club we can get your number so you don't have a duplicate handicap.

Stowe Country Club
Hello all, it's finally here- Opening day! Thanks to the weather, it's a late start to the season and I need to urge you all to sign up for some May events that are quickly approaching. The first is our second annual Spring Thaw Draw next Saturday. It is a blind draw A-B-C-D Scramble. It's a great opportunity to meet new members, get reacquainted, and shake the rust off. The Pros will create teams based on each players handicap. The event will start at 9:00AM with a shotgun start and play will be followed by an awards presentation with some munchies in the restaurant. Right now I'd like to speak to all of you who don't think you are good enough to play in our organized events - You are! Believe me, this event, our socials, and our leagues are designed so that everyone can participate. It's all about having fun.
The other event is the annual Memorial Day Tournament on Monday May 30th. This year's format is a two-man scramble with a competitive flight and a non-competitive flight. Everyone can play, but a special invitation goes out to all our veterans. Regardless of whether or not you served in the military, you can also play in honor of someone important to you who served their country in the armed forces. This is also a 9:00AM shotgun start followed by an awards luncheon.
