10th Annual Member-Guest...Final Reminder!

Last Call!

There's still a chance to sign up for this weekends Member-Guest. The weather looks beautiful!

The Stowe Cup, our annual Member-Guest tournament, is right around the corner on July 15-17. This event marks the highlight of our summer schedule and I encourage all of you to attend. I know that many of you may not feel as if you are the “tournament-type”, but this event is as much about celebrating being a member and showcasing our great club as it is about the competition. The format is designed so that even the higher handicap players can participate.

The format is a “two-person best ball” where you and your partner each play your own ball and the best score on each hole between the two is recorded. On Thursday your team score will determine which flight you will be placed into for Sundays finale; all that means the field will be divided into four divisions called flights– National, Liftline, Starr & Goat. For the non skiers in the audience these are the names of the famed “front four” ski trails on Mt Mansfield.

Each participant must have verifiable USGA handicaps and teams cannot have a handicap spread of more than 10 between each player.
This year’s event will remember Gerry Brown with a sportsmanship award.
All this for the small entry fee $150 per team. I cannot express to you what a value this event is. In searching the internet I found hundreds of member-guest links and the vast majority of them for $500-$1000 entry per team.

Sign up today by stopping by the club or calling 802.760.4652

I hope to see you all there. If you have any questions please call me.

Other Upcoming Events

Our Match Play matches are being held as we speak. Thank you to those who had signed up to play in both the Mens & Seniors who bowed out so someone could get in. The shop is a confusing place sometimes and unfortunatley some people who thought they had signed up were left off the list. Going forward I ask is that noone assumes they are signed up for an event unless you see your name written in. Hopefully next year we will be able to find an online solution to event registration that would make all of our lives easier.

Round three of the TBII Cup is next week. Our year-long internal pro-am pits  Dan, Dan, Dustin, Josh and Scott along with three members againsts each other for bragging rights. After round two's infamiously low winning score of -23 (Dan Lehmann & company) we had to call in some third party independant corporate lawyers to reverify some of said player's handicaps. Call the shop to sign up.

The Pre Nup Cup is on Friday the 29th of July at 4:30. This event is for any and all couples and is sure to test your relationship. 9 holes of alternate shot is the format. Call the shop to sign up with your partner.

The next event on the schedule os the August Member Social on 8/13. I received rave reviews about the July Social. These events feature an optional 4:30 shotgun followed by dinner. Members are FREE and guests only $20.

August 20th marks the date for our newest event The Founders Cup. A one day member guest will feature a pre flighted best ball format to honor the beginnings of Stowe CC.

The Club Championship is a little over a month away on 8/27-28. Get your game on and sign up.
