Dear Members:

We've had a great beginning to the season (knock on wood) and now we find ourselves at the halfway point of the season. We have just under 230 members this year, but we are still short of the 250 number we need to hit our budget. With 250 members our events would be that much bigger, better, and the sense of commaradie that much higher. 

You might remember our two-for one membership deal we offered in 2008? That promotion was a huge success because it rewarded both the referring member and the refered members; we'll, we have been thinking hard about ways to grow the memberhsip and we keep coming back to that referral program.  

Here's the deal: Each of you can refer one memberships at a mid-summer promotional price of 50% off* and in return you would get a free cart upgrade next spring when you join.

“Golf is a Sport, and Golfers are Athletes” Purpose/Mission:
The Stowe Junior Golf Initiative and the PGA Sports Academy program is a collaborative framework based on research and best practices from PGA Professionals, PGA Education, allied associations and the long term player development (LTPD) standards for junior golf adopted by the PGA World Alliance. The PGA Sports Academy’s main focus is on developing core golfers that will have pathways to continue to play golf socially or competitively based on each individual’s desire.

Overview:
SJG and the PGA Sports Academy program will help youth learn to play golf and have fun in the process. The PGA Sports Academy program has three levels: Sport, Player and Champion. Each level has five areas that will help youth learn, develop and practice the skills to become a better golfer and enjoy the sport of golf:

Pre Nup Cup
Well, it's been two years trying to get this event off the ground and when I checked the online registration to see how the sign ups were going I was shocked to see 20 people had signed up...awesome! For those of you not up to speed on what the pre-cup nup is all about...this event is all aboutthe hillarity of the situation; teams are comprised of a man and a woman and the format is 9 hole alternate shot. Play will begin at 5pm.

There's still spots available so sign up and I've seen the menu for the cocktail party following play and it looks great.Kirkwood Recap The 45thKirkwood ended this past Sunday with the local duo of Kyle Kirch and Dave Slayton taking home the champions trophy for the second year in a row.
