Fall Membership Promotion

Fall Membership Promotion
You have to love fall golf. The crisp air, the changing leaves, the not-so-crowded course means that there are plenty of reasons to get your golf on.
That being said plans are underway for 2014.  Soon you will see some additional maintenance work underway around the course.  Work is being done to enhance the playing experience at SCC for our members and guests.
A brand new promotion is available that benefits current and new members.  Current members can join now and play in 2104 at the 2013 rates. New members pay an additional $500 to play the remainder of the 2013 season plus they receive a 4 rounds at Stowe Mountain Club.  (Current Members may also pay the $500 and receive 4 rounds at Stowe Mountain Club for their personal use or to share with their friends – member must be present in the group).

September Happenings

September HappeningsLast Saturday was the September Member Social. A great time was had by everyone who braved the chilly temperatures and we gave away some very nice prizes. The winning team each received an outfit from the golf shop of their choice.
Now is a great time to stock up on golf merchandise; Save 50% on apparel and 40% on equipment.
The final Mixed Couples is coming up on September 27, followed by the Smugg’s Jug – our annual Member-Member on September 28.
The Smugg’s Jug is the last major event of the year, and when I say major I mean MAJOR FUN! The format is a one-day best ball with some fun twists to make this year’s event extra special.  You can play with any 2013 SCC member, but there is a maximum spread of 6 strokes between the low handicap team member and his partner when determining the net scores.  Tee times will begin at 10:30 with awards and snacks to follow.
There are a few spaces left if you are interested in playing.

Stowe Country Club Championships Recap

Stowe Country Club Championships RecapAs seen in the Stowe Reporter...For the past 60 years the members of Stowe Country Club have looked to the links to crown it's annual champions; over 60 players ages ranging from 11 to…well, let’s just say seasoned, played 36 holes of golf testing their skills, their nerves, and their fellow members to see who would take the titles.
The event consisted of five divisions: Men’s, Women’s, Senior’s, Super-Seniors, and Juniors. The Men’s division had some early fireworks when 2012 runner-up Chris Mancini made a hole-in-one on the eighth hole, his second ever, but making one in competition is especially memorable, if not a little expensive. In the end it was a two-way race with Jordon Plummer edging out Greg Gramas in a sudden-death playoff. Jordon Plummer is a new member at Stowe, but in a sense he grew up at SCC as a junior golfer and as an employee through high school, so he certainly knows his way around the course.
The Senior division competitio…
