Letter from The Stowe Golf Association

Hello Stowe Country Club Members,

The Stowe Golf Association welcomes you to the 2016 golf season.  We wanted to take a minute of your time to introduce the SGA Board and let you know about our initiatives for this season. In case you have never heard of the Stowe Golf Association, we are a non-authoritative board made up of volunteer Stowe Country Club members who support, advise, and work with the SCC Management team to plan and manage yearly tournaments, member social functions, and other various activities at SCC. Our mission as an organization is to represent and be a voice for the SCC Membership, help coordinate and execute events at SCC, and promote the game of golf both within the club and in our community.

There have been some significant changes in the past year with the SGA. We have a great crew and expect to accomplish a lot in 2016. The SGA Board includes the following members:

- Tyler Mumley, President
- Kerri Sedutto, Vice President
- Lynn Altadonna, Treasurer/Secretary
- Bill Schaff
- Greg Gramas
- Jerrine Gangas
- Mike Eagan (new member)
- Mark Plummer (new member)

One of our primary initiatives is to work with SCC Management to ensure that all of the yearly events run smoothly, garner Member participation, and are enjoyable and satisfying. Therefore, we have named a SGA Chairperson to each event this summer and he or she will be responsible to help promote the event, plan the event format and function, and conduct a post-event review with the SCC Management team. The following event Chairs have been determined for this season; please feel free to reach out to any of us if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions for any of these events:

- Ladies Night: Jerrine Gangas
- Men’s Night: Mark Plummer
- Social Events: Lynn Altadonna & Kerri Sedutto
- Memorial Day Tourney: Mark Plummer
- Ladies Classic: Jerrine Gangas
- Stowe Cup: Mike Eagan
- Smugg’s Jug: Greg Gramas
- Match Play Championships: Bill Schaaf
- Club Championships: Tyler Mumley & Kerri Sedutto

This year, the SGA will be focusing on a very significant cause to promote the game of golf in our community. As you many know, Stowe Junior Golf has been successful for many years but they can always use more help. So this season you will see the SGA Board conducting various activities to help raise money for and increase the awareness of Stowe Junior Golf. We look forward to your support as we make efforts to foster the love for golf in our youngest members and help ensure the future of this wonderful game.

We would like to thank Ron Philo, Kevin Komer, Josh Nicholls, and the rest of the management and operations team that make Stowe Country Club such a great place. The Stowe Golf Association would not be successful without their support. We'd also like to welcome RJ Austin as the new Head Pro - we are really looking forward to his involvement and leadership with the Members.

Thank you for your time; I hope you have found this information to be helpful. As Stowe Country Club members, there are a lot of things you can do to help enhance the your membership, the Club as a whole, and the game of golf in our community. The simplest thing you can do is reach out to anyone on the SGA Board and let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We welcome your input and look forward to help making this the best golf season yet at Stowe Country Club!

The Stowe Golf Association

Tyler Mumley, President
